HAS Rehabilitation Technician Training Program (RTTP)

A Sustainable Program
The RTTP trains four to six students per year in basic rehabilitation skills. Skills taught include a sample of those provided by physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and rehabilitation nurses; chosen for their applicability considering Haiti’s rehabilitation needs.

Training of new technicians is conducted by volunteer rehabilitation professionals from around the world. In turn, these professionals are complemented by the input and participation of local experts. Combining modern rehabilitation skills with local knowledge, the RTTP training creates an infrastructure that is both up-to-date and culturally harmonious. In this way, skills given through training are ideal for immediate incorporation into practice.

What is more, the RTTP seeks to create an appropriate number of healthcare and rehabilitation providers for the area to ensure a high probability of employment for graduates.
