History
There are many ways in which The Friends of HAS Haiti fulfills its mission to support HAS in its endeavors to improve the health and well-being of the nearly 300,000 inhabitants of Haiti's Artibonite Valley. Since its inception in 1999, the Friends has nurtured and supported project proposals for both gradual and immediate improvement of the lives of those at HAS Haiti and beyond. However, up until 2006, the organization focused almost exclusively on promoting awareness of the culture and art of Haiti through educational art shows and events. In 2007 the organization broadened its focus and became an independent nonprofit, and has since planned and implemented new projects in addition to our arts-related work. The Friends of HAS Haiti invites you to learn a little bit about some of the work that we now do. Click on the folowing links to discover more about our new projects.
