The Friends of HAS is thrilled to share with
you our diverse collection of Haitian paintings, metalwork, and craft items.
Enjoy our colorful collection of naif, abstract, and more naturalistic painting styles. An array of well-known artists both interpret and celebrate life in Haiti.
Our dazzling sequined flags (Vodou banners carried
in ceremonial processions) combine Vodou and Christian religious symbols.
We have a number of metal sculptures
which are intricately cut from flattened steel from oil drums.
We have in stock a variety of books about Haitian culture,
arts, and Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti. Cards which are reproduced from Haitian
paintings also make an excellent gift, or an accent to your correspondence kit!
